Mumbai Indians Poor Display!!!

As the league of the champions is on everyone would be having their favorite side to win this league. But as usual the team, which has a tag of favorites, faltered even this time. It is the Mumbai Indians who were the runners up of the Indian premier league. Mumbai Indians with international players like Malinga, Zaheer Khan, Pollard, Bravo, Duminy and the GOD himself (Sachin Tendulkar) being the captain has been regarded the strongest team of the tournament.

But after two matches they are in the verge of being eliminated from the tournament because of their poor display in bowling and fielding. Their first match was against South African team Highveld Lions in which they lost by ten runs chasing a mammoth score of 186 and that too due to the brilliance of Sachin Tendulkar who scored 69 and the rest failed to make an impression. The pressure was right on them when they faced the South Australian team. Winning the toss Sachin made the right decision by electing to bat but their innings started off in a bad note with both their openers falling cheaply. It was Tiwary’s and pollard’s innings that stabled the innings. They posted a good score of 180 and in that pitch it seemed to be a winning target. But once again they showed a poor bowling and fielding performance as the South Australian chased it with three balls to spare. Though there was dew on the pitch the bowlers didn’t adapt to the situation and it was only malinga who bowled consistently well. There was comedy of errors in the field and very rare to see a Mumbai Indian hold on to a catch. Experience players like Zaheer, Bravo and Bhajji failed to show their class in this tournament, which led to their failure. Lets all hope that the team comes back in the remaining three games and make their fans all over the world happy…
